Douglas Bruce Windle

Douglas Bruce Windle, 81, devoted husband of Joyce for 59 years left his earthly home on Saturday, Nov. 21, at St. Joseph Hospice Care Center. Doug was a native of Kansas born May 15, 1934, to the late Forest P and Livona Jane Windle. He was a retired employee of IBM where he was a computer programmer and a US Army Veteran. He was a member of the Edgewood Baptist Church where he was a former Deacon, a member of Hart Masonic Lodge, former member of the Lions Club, and member of Sons of the Union Veterans of the Civil War. Doug was very active in reenactments which was his passion. In addition to his wife Joyce he leaves his memories with sons Thomas Wayne Windle, wife Becky and Steven Douglas Windle, daughter Teresa Rene Estes, husband Terry, grandchildren Richard and Caitlin Estes and Michael Windle, great granddaughter Caroline Marie Estes, and brother-in-law and sister-in- law Dennis Gene and Cindy Brown along with other extended family members and friends. He was preceded in death by a brother Gene Windle. A Service of Remembrance will be held 12:00 Noon at Edgewood Baptist Church with Rev. Bob Blankenship and Bill Black officiating. He will be laid to rest in Camp Nelson National Cemetery with Military Honors. Doug's family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM at the Church on Monday.
