Wilmore: Edith ‘Toots’ Hardin Carson, 92, of Highbridge Rd. died unexpectedly at her home on Wednesday, Jan. 2. A native of Jessamine County she was born July 15, 1915, to the late Sam and Bessie Rue Hardin. She was the widow of J.W. ‘Bill’ Carson who died in 1994, a member of the Wilmore Christian Church and former owner of the Highbridge Grocery. Survivors include her sons Elliott T. ‘Dinky’ Conn, wife Betty and Charles William ‘Bobby’ Conn ,wife Jeannie, a brother Vernon ‘Pete’ Hardin, wife Ruby, 5 grandchildren Pam McCoy, Sammy Conn, wife Robyn, Bobbie Jo Monroe, husband Junior, Jimmy Conn, and John Conn, 5 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death in 2007 by a brother Cecil Hardin.
Services will be 1:00 PM Friday, Jan. 4, at Hager & Cundiff Funeral Home with Rev. Leonard Fitch officiating, burial in Maple Grove Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Frankie Daughtery, Kenneth Houp, Jeff Carroll, Clay Corman, Kenneth Watts, Ron ‘Peanut’ Houp. Visitation from 4 to 8 PM Thurs. Jan. 3, at the funeral home.
