Edward Lee Moore Sr., born July 15, 1946, joined his Heavenly Father in peace April 4, 2020. Ed leaves behind his wife Betsy (Turner) Moore, 3 children - sons, Edward Moore Jr. (wife Teri), Levi Moore (wife Rene’), and a daughter, Rebecca Ogden (husband Preston), 4 grandchildren - Michael Moore, Nicholas Moore (wife Destiny), Denae Moore, and Trevor Ogden, 2 step grandchildren - Garrett Ogden, and Kristen Ogden, a step great grandchild - Gatlin Ogden, and a sister Christy (Moore) Hill (husband Earl), as well as several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father Rex Moore, mother Louise (Matherly) Moore, and 2 brothers Larry Moore and Tommy Moore. Ed was well known for his sense of humor. He loved the outdoors, especially the mountains and rivers of West Virginia. He was a true Mountaineer! He grew up in the little coal camp Stotesbury, WV and returned there in his later years before moving to KY, where his wife was from, to live out his last 4 years on Earth. Ed had 80+ jobs in his lifetime, the most recent being Choice Books, which he enjoyed very much! Ed was a resident at Cambridge Place in Lexington, Ky with his wife. He was blessed to have many nurses and other staff who cared very deeply for him and took great care of him! A private funeral service will be held Thursday, April 9, at Hager & Cundiff Funeral Home, Nicholasville, KY, in cooperation with the request of health officials of not exceeding more than 10 and only the closest of family. A private graveside burial will be Friday, April 10, at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens in Beckley, WV, also abiding by the COVID-19 guidelines in the state of West Virginia.
