Edward ‘Pod’ Perkins, 90, of Rarrick Ave. died Friday, Sept. 23, at Madison Health and Rehab in Richmond. A native of Jessamine County he was born April 26, 1921, to the late Henry and Minnie Perkins. He was a member of Wesley Chapel and a life long farmer in Jessamine County. Pod was a member of the Beef Cattle Association, Antique Farm Machinery and served on the ASCS board for many years. He was a former employee of the Jessamine County Sheriff’s office working in the office of the Circuit Court Clerk, and had been an employee of Hager & Cundiff Funeral Home for many years. He is survived by his wife Dolly Hamm Perkins, grandsons Danny and David Ketron, sister in law Lillian Perkins, and niece Cheryl Jones as well as many other nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by 2 sons Charles Perkins and Paul Ketron, 3 brothers and a sister.
Services will be held 1:00 PM Tues. Sept. 27, at Hager & Cundiff Funeral Home, burial Maple Grove Cemetery. Honoring him as pallbearers will be Dale Durham, Payton Durham, James Farley, Ron Cundiff, Doug Fain, Craig McGaughey, and Charles L. Miller. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 PM on Mon.
