Wilmore: Edward ‘Red’ Turner, 87, died Monday May 31, at Pine Meadows Health Care after an extended illness. A native of Woodford County he was born March 1, 1923, to the late Ned and Frona Sparks Turner. He was the widower of Lucinda Hendren Turner who died in 1983.
Red was a member of the Mt. Freedom Baptist Church and a retired employee of Carey & Adams. Survivors include his daughter Barbara Ann Turner, Lexington, brother Roy Turner wife Mary M., Lexington, nephew Steve Thomas, Louisville, and brother in law Harold Hendren, Elizabethtown. He was preceded in death by a brother Arthur R. Turner and wife Ozella and sister Maxine Smith.
Services will be 10:00 AM Thurs. at Hager & Cundiff Funeral Home with Rev. Don Reed officiating, burial in Bluegrass Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 PM on Wednesday. Contributions to Pine Meadows Health Care Resident Christmas Fund may be made in his memory or to one’s favorite charity.
