Elbert G. Turner

Elbert G. Turner, 85, affectionately known as "G" left his earthly home on March 31, at the VA Hospital, on Cooper Drive. He was a native of Jessamine County born May 19, 1929, to William and Patricia Upton Turner. He was a dedicated farmer and probably has forgotten more about living and earning a living on a farm than most will ever know. He raised tobacco, cattle, horses and always a garden. He had attended Sulphur Well Christian Church and was a US Army veteran during which time he served in the Korean War. He leaves his stories and memories with his wife of approximately 20 years Helen Russell Turner, daughters Paula Ramey, husband Bobby and Melissa Estes, husband Jimmy, his step children, 4 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, numerous step grandchildren and great grandchildren, a brother Billy Turner as well as numerous nieces and nephews. A Service of Remembrance will be held on Monday, April 6 at Hager & Cundiff Funeral Home. He will be laid to rest in Camp Nelson National Cemetery with full Military Honors. Honoring him as pallbearers will be David Slugantz, Sam Cassity, John Halderman, Allen Johnson, Phillip Johnson, and Jimmy Estes. His family will receive visitors from 4 to 8 PM on Sunday, April 5, at the funeral home. Donations in his memory made to Camp Nelson Honor Guard would be appreciated by his family. Hager & Cundiff Funeral Home is honored to serve the Turner family. Guestbook and Tribute is available at www.hagerandcundifffunerals.com
