Elgan Brent Bruner, 48, loving husband of Deanna Vickers Bruner for 6 years , and devoted son of Dorothy "Dottie" Bruner and the late Elgan W. Bruner, left his earthly home on Sunday, August 9, at the St. Joseph Jessamine Ambulatory Center. Elgan was a native of Jessamine County born Nov. 21, 1966 and a self employed excavator. He loved playing the guitar his favorite songs being those of Willie Nelson, was an avid fisherman, bow hunter, riding his Harley motorcycle, traveling to the beach and recently spending time with his grandson Jasper Layne Marcum. In addition to his Mother and wife he leaves his memories with a son Elgan Brent Bruner II, step children Brooke Ashley Albertson, and Zachary Wayne Marcum, paternal grandmother Ann Corman, sister and brother-in-law Tina and John Russell. nieces Lindsey Lay, husband Glendon, and Natalie Russell, nephew Nickolas Russell, wife Samantha Jo, great nephew Hudson Lay, and special family members Danny "Tuck" Bruner, Barbara Sue Clark, husband Ray, Ida Young, husband Lynn and Kevin Corman, wife Tammy, as well as many other extended family members. He also will be missed by his special friend and pet Hammer who he loved dearly. He was preceded in death by maternal grandparents Douglas and Ophelia Stipe, paternal grandfather Elgan Bruner, paternal step grandfather Frank Corman and several other aunts and uncles. A Remembrance Service will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 12, at 7:00 PM at Hager & Cundiff Funeral Home with Rev. Steve Gifford officiating. The family will greet friends before his Service on Wednesday, Aug. 12, after 2:00 PM. Elgan's family has honored his wish for cremation and Hager & Cundiff Funeral Home is honored to assist in his arrangements.
