Elizabeth Ann Cowan

Elizabeth Ann Cowan, loving wife of 51 years to Jerry Cowan, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, Dec. 14, 2013, at the St. Joseph Hospice Care Center. She was a native of Iowa born Sept 5, 1943, to the late Arne and Edna Prestsater. She was a member of St. Johns Lutheran Church where she was a member of their Quilting Group. Elizabeth was a retired employee Asbury Theological Seminary where she was a secretary for 17 years. Being very proud of her family she enjoyed Scrapbooking to record their lives. In addition to her husband she leaves to cherish her memory sons Gregory Alan Cowan, wife Paula Marie of Mt. Vernon and David Lynn Cowan, wife Melissa Gail, of Nicholasville, grandchildren Katherine Grace Cowan and Joseph Gregory Cowan, brothers Arlin Prestsater, wife Juanita, CA and Roy Prestsater, wife Deborah, of Iowa, and sister Ruth Jauert, husband Kennth of Iowa, a sister-in-law Jan Cowan, Nicholasville, brother-in-law John Cowan, wife Janis WA, and numerous nieces and nephews. A Remembrance Celebration will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, Dec. 21, at St. Johns Lutheran Church, 516 Pasedena Dr., Lexington by Pastor James Betterman. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers you can make donations to Hospice of the Bluegrass or St. Johns Lutheran Church in her memory.
