Elizabeth "Betty" Dees, 93, who was affectionately called "Bett" by her late husband Charles who died 2013, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, June 21. Betty was a native of Larne, Northern Ireland born May 5, 1923, to the late James and Elizabeth Greer Cochrane. She was a member of the Episcopal Church of England and was proud of her Irish heritage. She met and married Charles while he was stationed in Ireland. Betty was a retired employee of Brown & Williamson Tobacco where she was a First Aid Nurse. Knitting was her passion having knitted since she was 5 years old she made many beautiful clothes and useful articles for her family. Her memories will be cherished by daughters Bobbie Jean Johnson, husband Mike and Bebe Collins, husband Charles David, grandchildren Julie Johnson, Shannon Johnson, Jeffery Dees, wife Amanda, Jason Dees, wife Christa, Martha Collins Jones, husband Justin, and Jennifer Wilson, husband John, great grandchildren Aidan Dees, Jenna Scarberry, Harper Wilson, Avery Dees, and Sloane Wilson, as well as a daughter-in-law Lynne King, husband Gene. She was preceded in death by a son Byron W. "Butch" Dees, 4 sisters and a brother. A Remembrance Service will be held 11:00 AM Friday at Wilmore Presbyterian Church, 100 N. Lexington Ave.. She will be laid to rest beside her husband at 2:30 PM in the Dutch Tract Cemetery, 1448 Ditto Cemetery Road, Pleasureville, KY. Honoring her as pallbearers will be Jason and Jeff Dees, Charles Collins, Mike Johnson, Mike Thomas, Eddie Fox, and Steven Gootee. The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 PM at Wilmore Presbyterian Church. Betty's family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to the entire staff of Wesley Village for the kindness and excellent care given to their Mother during the 5 years she spent with them.
