Elsie Yvonne (Walker) Lowry

Elsie Yvonne Lowry, 87, widow of Denny Lowry since 2005, joined him  in eternal rest on Monday Sept. 19, 2022,  while residing at North Point Health Care.  She was a native of Jessamine County, born Sept. 6, 1935, being one of five children born to the late Walter and Lizzie Hughes Walker.  She was a member of the Antioch Christian Church and had retired from the Jessamine County Detention Center, where she was a Deputy. Yvonne will be fondly remembered by her sons Jesse, wife Kathleen, Ricky, Danny, wife Susan, and James, wife Rebecca Lynn, her grandchildren Anthony Lowry, wife Simaranika, Jennifer Lowry, Tasha Marie Wilson, husband Wyatt, Cody Lowry, wife Charla, Alexandrea Lowry, and James Robert Lowry. Jr. and her 4 step-grandchildren, along with her 5 great-grandchildren Austin, Krista, Sunshine, McKenna and River Walker Lowry, and many other extended family members and friends.  Yvonne was preceded in death by a son Edward Eugene Lowry, daughter Brenda Joyce Neikirk, and four brothers Phillip, Stanford, Fred, and Eugene Walker.  A Service of Remembrance will be held 2:00 PM on Thursday, Sept 22, at Hager & Cundiff Funeral Home with Clinton Hurt and Billy Peel officiating.  She will be laid to rest beside her husband in the Lowry Cemetery, 1206 River Road. Honoring her as pallbearers will be family members.   Her family will greet friends beginning at at 4:00 PM on Wednesday and ending at 8:00 PM at the funeral home.  “You’ll never forget the sound of your mother’s voice, the lessons she taught, the stories she told . . . they are her gift and your legacy.” Hager & Cundiff values nothing more than the trust and loyalty placed in us to care for the Lowry Family.
