Ernest Lee Lawson, 74, loving husband of Debbie Burton Lawson, entered into eternal rest on Jan. 1, 2021, at Baptist Health. He was a native of Lexington, KY born Feb. 23, 1946, to the late Ernest Alvin and Goldie Lee Buffin Lawson and spent a great deal of his life in Texas.  Ernie was a member of Edgewood Baptist Church where he attended the Jim Smith Sunday School class and had a passion for music. He sang with the Harmony Fellows and the Amen Quartet, as well as played the guitar and wrote songs, having made a couple of records in his early days “Ode to the Filling Station” and “Push Me, Daddy”.  In addition to his wife he will be fondly remembered his son Duane Lee Lawson, wife Manuela, daughter Chrystal Gale Jackson, husband Scott, step children Lisa Antrobus, Robert and Samuel Daniels, and Jennifer Horton, brother Ralph Lawson, wife Sue, sister Jewell Kaylor, husband Doug, 8 grandchildren as well as many step grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, and extended family members and friends. Ernie was preceded in death by a brothers Cecil and Eddie Lawson and  sister Misty Hardin, and a faithful friend of 22 years Wanda Richardson.  His family will greet friends from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM, at which time they will dismiss for Burial in the Keene Cemetery, where he will be laid fo rest following a Graveside Service which will be held at 1:00 PM. Honoring him as pallbearers will beDoug Kaylor, Luis Utrera, Craig Dundon, Samuel Daniels, Ben Cave, David Cheek and Shayne Elmore.  Honorary bearer will be Randall Beck.  “His life was a blessing, his memory a treasure, He was loved beyond words, and will be missed beyond measure.”  Hager & Cundiff Funeral Home values nothing more that the trust given to us by Ernie and his family to care for his services.

In accordance with CDC guide we request that all visitors wear a mask and practice social distancing while attending visitation and Graveside Service.
