Evadene Akins, 79, formerly of Shannon Parkway, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, July 10, at Royal Manor Nursing Home where she had been a resident for several years. She was a native of Illinois born Dec. 4, 1933, to the late Homer and Irene Turley Farmer. She was the widow of Leslie R. Akins since 1982. Evadene had been a member of the Nicholasville United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday School. Her hobby was making crafts but her passion was trail riding in Texas. She leaves to cherish her memory a daughter Leslyn Wayne, husband Benny, son Erick Akins, wife Michelle, grandson B. J. Wayne, wife Ashley, great granddaughter Laken, and her special friend Marie Smith. Her family will receive friends on Monday, July 14, from 4 to 8 PM at Hager & Cundiff Funeral Home. She will be laid to rest with her husband at Camp Nelson National Cemetery 11:00 AM Tuesday, July 15, with Pastor Ron Riley officiating. Guestbook www.hagerandcundifffunerals.com
