Evelyn (Ward) Cobb

Evelyn Ward Cobb, 94, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 2, 2024, in Lexington, KY.  Evelyn was born on February 13, 1930, in Jackson County, KY to the late Lewis and Martha Witt Ward.  She was the widow of Robert Clay Cobb after 65 years of marriage.  Evelyn was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend whose kindness and warmth touched the lives of all who know her.  Throughout her life, Evelyn found joy in the simple pleasures, whether it was tending to her garden, baking delicious treats, sewing, or sharing stories with loved ones.  She cherished reading the daily newspaper and watching UK basketball games.  Though she may be gone, her spirit will forever be remembered and cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing her, especially her children, Leisha (Larry) Cobb Sexton and Gina (Tim) Tussey; grandchildren Rachel Ki Tussey, Lawson Stuart Tussey, Jacob Sexton, and Neil (Carissa) Sexton; sister Jannis (Charles) Christian, and a host of nieces and nephews and extended family members.  In addition to her parents and husband, Evelyn was preceded in death by her siblings Iris (Karl) Lee, Dallas Ward, and Kenneth Ward.  Visitation will be 3-5PM Sunday, May 5 and a Remembrance Service will be at 2PM Monday, May 6, both at Hager & Cundiff Funeral Home.  Pallbearers will be Lawson Stuart Tussey, Pat Lee, Chad Christian, Ellis Laudemilk, John Cox, Gary Davis, and Colin Hiatt. Evelyn will be laid to rest at the Cobb Cemetery in Nicholasville, KY, following Monday’s service.  May Evelyn Ward Cobb rest in peace, knowing that she was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed.
