Nicholasville: Evelyn ‘Tootsie’ Dean Foster, 86, died Thurs. Feb. 19, in Louisville surrounded by family and friends. She was a native of Jessamine County born March 7, 1922, to the late Charlie Mann and Ada Segeser Dean. She was a member of the Nicholasville Christian Church and in earlier years had also been a member of Little Hickman Christian Church and after moving to Louisville to be with her daughter Dottie Inman she had been attending Beargrass Christian Church. Tootsie loved the dogs she shared with her daughter Dottie; Pebbles, Teddy, and Mickey, playing bridge and was an avid UK Wildcat fan having retired from the University of Kentucky where she worked with Dr. Otis Singletary who was President of the University. She also served as a volunteer at the UK Hospital. In addition to her daughter Dottie she is survived by sisters in law Roberta Dean and Nancy Dean, nephews Bobby Dean, wife Shay, their children Molly Stevens, husband Wayne and their daughter Piper, Micah Dean and wife Katie,Tommy Dean, Barry Dean, Rob Dean, nieces Kristy Wicks, husband Jeff and daughter Emma, Betsy MacLennan, husband Jon and sons Conner and Hunter, and family friend Nina Begley. She was preceded in death by 2 brothers Carl ‘Buddy’ Dean and Dr. Robert Mann ‘Doodle’ Dean, a sister Dorothy Dean Terrell.
Services will be 1:00 PM Sat. Feb. 21, at Hager & Cundiff Funeral Home with Rev. Jeff Mandrell officiating, burial in Maple Grove Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Bobby Dean, Tommy Dean, Barry Dean, Dan Vick, Lenny Barlow, Richie Barlow and Wayne Stevens. Visitation will be on Fri., Feb. 20, from 4 to 8 PM and on Sat. from 11:00 AM until time of service. The family request donations be made in her memory to the Nicholasville Christian Church or to the Kentucky Humane Society, Louisville.
