Nicholasville: Everett A. Woodward, 90, of Bell Court, passed away on Wed., July 20, at St. Joseph Hospice Care Center. Services will be Sat., July 23, at 11:00 AM at Hager & Cundiff Funeral Home. Visitation will be on Fri. July 22, from 4 to 8 PM at the funeral home.

Everett was a native of Jessamine County born Aug. 11, 1920, to the late Charles Gordon and Carrie Hager Woodward. In 1942 he enlisted in the US Army and served 3 years receiving the Asiatic-Pacific, Theater Ribbon with 3 Bronze Stars: American Theater Ribbon,: Philippine Liberation Ribbon with 2 Bronze Stars; Good Conduct Ribbon; and Victory Medal. Upon being discharged from the Army Everett return to Jessamine County and in 1946 married Margaret Shearer and they began a life together having 5 children Barbara Watts-Brown, FL. husband Michael, Wendy Huey, GA. husband Dane, Linda Wells, KY., husband Patrick, Gordon Woodward, Nicholasville, wife, Joyce, and Rita Ruth, GA. husband Lawrence. He owned and operated Everett’s Body Shop until his retirement in 1973. His passion in life was fishing on the Ky. River and UK basketball and his devotion to family. In addition to his children he leaves to remember him 10 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews and his loving dog Toby. He was preceded in death by 2 sisters Margaret and Katherine and brother George. The family has requested in lieu of flowers donations be made to Hospice of the Bluegrass.
