Floyd Long, 78, of Cook Lane, died Thursday, April 11, at Mayfair Manor Nursing Home. He was a native of Casey County Born Feb. 5, 1935, to the late James Monroe and Altie Mae Murphy Long.

He was a member of the Reality Church and was a employee of the Nicholasville Wal Mart meat department. Floyd loved working with wood and spent many hours building dog houses and yard furniture over the years.

He is survived by a daughter Loni Long and sister

Ova Marie Peel as well as nieces, nephews and cousins. He was precede in death by a sister Mary Lou Arsenault.

A Service of Remembrance will be held on Thurs. April 18, at Hager & Cundiff Funeral Home with Doug Fain and Billy Holland officiating. Honoring him as pallbearers will be John Ramirez, Charlie Oliver, Billy Holland, Josh Holland, Doug Fain, Jonathan Fain, and Jason Humphrey.

The family will receive friends from 4 to 8 PM on Wednesday, April 17, at the Funeral Home. In remembrance of Floyd contributions may be made to one's favorite charity.
