Frances Chesnut Blake, 87, went to be with her Savior, Jesus, on June 3, 2014 at Wesley Village in Wilmore, Kentucky, where she had been a resident for eight years. "Fran" as she was known, was born in Corbin, Kentucky, on June 12,1926 to the late Zora and Jennie Widener Chesnut.. She was preceded in death by husband Ike, brother Charles Chesnut, and a stillborn son. She is survived by 18 nieces and nephews, brother-in-law Dr Dennis Kinlaw, of Wilmore, brother-in-law Rev. Billy Case and sister-in-law Lois Leidig both of Florida. Fran graduated from Asbury College in 1948 and had a lifelong commitment to and love for her alma mater. She and Ike lived in Schenectady, New York where she worked as a Social Worker and Christian Bookstore owner. In 1986, they moved to Vero Beach, Florida in 2006 after the death of her husband she then moved to Wesley Village . A Memorial Service will be held 10:00 AM Wednesday, June 11 at Wesley Village in Wilmore. She will be laid to rest at Memory Gardens in Albany, New York. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in her memory to the Francis Asbury Society. P.O. Box 7, Wilmore, Kentucky 40390.
