Garnett L. Burchett, 70, of East Maple, widower of Brenda, left his earthly home on Sunday at the University of Kentucky Hospital. He was a native of Casey County, born July 13, 1947, to the late Sam and Sue Holt Burchett. He was the youngest son of his parents who had a family of 10 children, 6 daughters and 4 sons. Garnett was a metal specialist for the Baker Iron and Metal Company before he became disabled. He was a proud member and Chief in the Beaver Creek Native Peoples, was a baseball pitcher, and loved fishing and farming. He leaves his memories with daughter Reba Lee, sons Robert L. and Garnett Keith Burchett, 6 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild and numerous nieces and nephews. His family will greet friends starting at 4:00PM on Thursday, Dec. 21, and ending at 6:00PM, at which time there will be a Remembrance Service held in his honor. He will be laid to rest beside his wife in Bluegrass Memorial Gardens on Friday, Dec. 22, 2017. Hager & Cundiff Funeral Home is proud to serve the Burchett family.
