Wilmore: George Lucien Wiggs, 90, husband of Sue Ann Tipton Wiggs for 63 years died Sunday at R.J. Corman Ambulatory Center.
He was a native of Jessamine County born Dec. 22, 1921, to the late William and Bessie Reed Wiggs. He was employed for 16 years as an electrician for Ky. Die Casting in Georgetown, was also a mechanic for Hager Construction and Halls Campers, but his passion and hobby was farming. He loved raising tobacco and having cattle to tend.
He attended Mt. Freedom Baptist Church with his wife and son. In addition to his wife Sue Ann he is survived by 2 daughters Connie Grimes and husband Donald and Georgianne Stinnett, husband Mickey, a son Tommy Wiggs, 7 grandchildren Brad Cobb, Crystal Harvey, husband Joe, Kimberly Stewart husband Mark, Stephanie Smith, husband Marcus, Michelle Laubenheimer, Jennifer Wiggs, 8 great grandchildren, 2 sisters Enuice Kennoy and Christine Wiley,and sisters in law Ethel Wiggs and Delores Wiggs.
He was preceded in death by a sister Mae Moore, brothers William B., Miller, Stanley, Bobby and Donnie Wiggs and grandson Michael Grimes. A Service of Remembrance will be held 2:00 PM on Wed., Oct. 24, at Mt. Freedom Baptist Church with Rev. Nathan Elliott officiating, he will be laid to rest in Blue Grass Memorial Gardens. Honoring him as pallbearers will be Billy Wiggs, Stanley Wiggs, Jr., Bill Kennoy, Stanley T. Wiggs, Howard Dawson Wiggs, and Stanton Richardson.
Visitation will be held at the Church on Tues. Oct. 23, from 2 to 4 PM and 6 to 8 PM. Flowers are welcome, but donations may be made in his memory to Mt. Freedom Baptist Church, 100 Lexington Rd., Wilmore, KY. 40390
