Glyndon Jones

Glyndon Jones, 87, joined his wife Ruth in eternal rest on Sunday, March 2, at St. Joseph Hospital. Glyndon was a resident of Cambridge Place but had formerly resided in Georgetown. He was a native of Jackson County born Nov. 6, 1926, to the late Sam and Cynthia Hisel Jones. Glyndon was a retired employee of Dixie Cup and had a passion for gardening. His neighbors in Georgetown marveled has his ability to grow vegetables. He leaves to cherish his memory his devoted daughter Suzanne Smith, husband Dean, grandson Michael Shadoan, and nephew Glenn West. He was preceded in death by his sister Dorothy West and brother Elmo "Bo" Jones. Glyndon's Service of Remembrance will be held 1:00 PM on Tuesday, March ll, at Hager & Cundiff Funeral Home by Pamela McCracken. He will be laid to rest beside his wife at Bluegrass Memorial Gardens. Honoring him as pallbearers will be Bob Sanders, Glenn West, Keith West, Jim Lowry, and Bobby Lowry. The family will receive friends on Monday, March 10, at the funeral home from 4 to 8 PM. Flowers are welcome but donations may be made in his memory to the American Diabetes Foundation, 1701, North Beauregard St., Alexandria, VA 22311.
