Harold Bowman Humphrey

Wilmore: H. Bowman Humphrey, 75, of McCauley Pike, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday morning at his home. A native of Jessamine County he was born Oct. 31, 1933, to the late Duard & Lottie L Bowman Humphrey. Bowman retired from construction having worked for Tutt and for Carey & Adams for many years. He served as Jessamine County Deputy Sheriff from 1974 to 1981, was a member of the Blue Grass Horse Pullers Association having served as vice president for several years, a member of the Jessamine County Saddle Club, a Jessamine County farmer and had attended Mt. Pleasant Church. He is survived by his wife of 55 years Joan Halderman Humphrey, daughter Debby Saylor Johnson, 3 sons James Harold Humphrey, wife Linda, Barry Edward Humphrey, wife Carla, and Bob Humphrey, wife Debby, brother Cecil June Humphrey, wife Betty, sister Virginia ‘Cricket’ Shelton, husband Bobby, 8 grandchildren Steven Saylor, Regina Williams, Kathy Jo Walker, husband Floyd, Michael Levi Humphrey, Janet Humphrey, Jessica Humphrey, Heather Humphrey, and Kayla Humphrey, 7 great grandchildren Bryan Williams, Paula Forbes, Jared Murphy, Bowman Walker, Madison and Dakota Walker, Wyatt Creech, and Harley Humphrey, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Services will be 1:00 PM Sat. Jan. 31, at Hager & Cundiff Funeral Home with Rev. Bobby Becknell and Rev. Basil Hall officiating, burial in Maple Grove Cemetery. Pall bearers will be Gene Goldey, Benny Peel, Monte Carpenter, Jim Bob Adams, Jackie Adams, Bruce Bowman, and Johnnie Halderman. Honorary bearers will be members of the Blue Grass Horse Pullers Association. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 PM on Friday, Jan. 30, at the funeral home.
