Nicholasville: Harry Brooks, 80, of Lock 8 Rd., died Thurs., Sept 20, at his home. A native of Jessamine County he was born May 25, 1927, to the late Elliott and Gladys Hamm Brooks. A life long farmer he enjoyed fishing, gardening and being outdoors. He had also served as an Election Officer in Jessamine County for over 30 years. He is survived by his wife of 59 years Rosalyne Hill Brooks, a daughter Carolyn Beaumont and husband James, 2 sons Wayne Brooks and wife Barbara , Gene Brooks and wife Deborah, 2 brothers Clarence Brooks and wife Lou, Paul Brooks and wife Diane, 2 sisters Elsie Roberts, and Nancy Gayhart, 6 grandchildren Cathy Rollencotter and husband Rob, Sara Beth Lusk and husband Charles, Jenny Barber and husband Jason, Jr. Brooks and wife Jennifer, Michael Seth Brooks, and Jonah Elliott, and 5 great grandchildren Amanda Toole, Jon Todd Toole, Tylor Toole, Maddie Lusk, and Lilly Lusk. He was preceded in death by brothers in law Bill Roberts and Clevert Gayheart, grandchildren Jennifer and Jeanette Brooks.
Services will be 11:30 AM Mon. Sept. 24, at Hager & Cundiff Funeral Home with Rev. Lee Taylor and Rev. Ben Bowman officiating, burial in Camp Nelson National Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jr. Brooks, Jonah Elliott, Michael Seth Brooks, Billy Teater, Todd Skelton, and Charles Lusk. Honorary Bearers will be A. G. Canter, Roland Teater, and Ray Walden Carter.
