Harry W. "Buddy" Powell, Jr. 69, entered into eternal rest at Central Baptist Hospital on Saturday, July 27. He was a native of Jessamine County born Oct. 4, 1943, to the late Harry W. Sr. and Josephine Barnes Powell and loving husband of 48 years to Cheryl Kindred Powell. Buddy was retired from Lexair, Inc where he worked for 23 years and was of the Baptist faith. He loved his 4 Jack Russells, and fishing with friends at Lake Barkley. Buddy was a sports enthusiast therefore he dedicated many years to coaching Little League basketball, baseball, and softball in Jessamine County. In addition to his wife he leaves to cherish his memory daughters Kelly Stitzer, husband Josh and Rebecca McDaniel, husband John, son Jon Powell, and grandchildren Jacob, Juliette, and Jenna McDaniel and Wesley Powell. He was preceded in death by a sister Gwendolyn Powell Lindsey. A Graveside Remembrance will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday July 31, at Maple Grove Cemetery.
