Hazel Canter Bruner, 103, of Southcreek Dr. entered into eternal rest on Friday, July 26, at St. Joseph Hospital. She was a native of Jessamine County born Dec. 1, 1909. Hazel was the widow of Elgin Canter and Robert Bruner. She loved her church and was a dedicated member of the Nicholasville United Methodist Church. A homemaker she was noted as being an excellent cook and caregiver of her children. She leaves to cherish her memory a grandson Mike Gill who she raised from the age of 3 and his wife Harriett, great grandchildren Jason Gill, wife Brook and Whitney Fay, great-great grandchildren Jack Gill and Evie Fay, daughter in law Norma McIntyre Canter and her sons Bob and Bill McIntyre, wife Anita, a step daughter Joann Bruner Corman, a special nephew Shirley Smith, wife Patty. She was preceded in death by sons William Fountain, Sterling, and Chester Marvin Canter and daughters Clossie Ann Neilson and Mary Ruth Canter, 3 step children, 4 sisters and 5 brothers. A Service of Remembrance will be held on 1:00 PM Tues., July 30, at Hager & Cundiff Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Snyder officiating. She will be laid to rest in Maple Grove Cemetery. Honoring her as pallbearers will be Shirley Smith, Bill and Bob McIntyre, Gerald Cobb, Curtis Abshear and Tom Sutherland. Her family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until time of service on Tuesday. A special thanks to Royal Manor staff for the love and care they have given to Hazel for the last 3 years.
