Henry F. Bowles, 82, of Mundy’s Landing, died Thurs. Sept. 22, at St. Joseph Hospice Care Center. He was a native Jessamine County, born April 12, 1929, to the late Roy and Ola Montgomery Bowles. He was a graduate of Nicholasville High School and a life time farmer in Woodford County. Henry was a member of Clover Bottom Baptist Church. He was the widower of Ina Bowles who died in 2011, they had been married 62 years at her death. Together they enjoyed trips to Virginia Beach, Myrtle Beach and the Smokey Mountains. Survivors include daughters Janet Isaacs and Patty Stocker, husband Ralph, grandchildren Michelle Lang, husband Scott, Mindy Conrad, husband Chuck, Anthony Duggins, wife Jackie, Jennifer Perry husband Tommy, Beth Day, husband Ricky, Joshua Houp, wife Sarah, and Shannon Collins, husband Dave, great grandchildren Sarah McIntosh, Jessica Lang, Brittany and Blake Conrad, Hayleigh, Olivia, and Ethan Perry, Sierra Sanders, Mckenzie Day, Layla Houp, Tyler Collins, and Emilynn Day, and great great granddaughter Abbygail McIntosh, a sister Judy Leslie, numerous nieces and nephews as well as his beloved dog Sam. He was preceded in death by a son in law Lloyd Isaacs, brothers Eslie, Herman, Oscar, Jim, Russell, and Buster Bowles, and a sister Bessie Lane.
Services will be 2:00 PM on Monday, Sept. 26, at Hager & Cundiff Funeral Home with Deacon Bill Spaulding officiating. He will be laid to rest beside his wife at Blue Grass Memorial Gardens. Honoring him as pallbearers will be Anthony Duggins, Tommy Perry, Joshua Houp, Chuck Conrad, Dave Collins, Ricky Day, and Scott Lang. Honorary bearers will be Dick and Mike Chapman, Roger and Carl Patterson, Roy Parrot, Ray Motley, and Jimmy Duff. Contributions may be made in his memory to Hospice of the Bluegrass or the American Cancer Society. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 PM on Sunday, Sept. 25, at the funeral home.
