Herbert Winston Byrne, Jr

Wilmore: Herbert Winston Byrne, Jr., 67, departed this life on Thurs., June 18, and has entered into eternity. As he was affectionately known by family and friends, Bert was born on Oct. 23, 1941, in Mobile, Alabama. During his lifetime, he resided in Florida, Oregon, and Indiana, but his favorite home was in the Bluegrass. Because of a complicated birth, his life began in tragedy, but he lived triumphantly. His friendship and love were based upon his innocence and shy manner. He had no enemies. Jesus said, ‘ Everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.’ This was Bert’s creed. He lived and loved beyond measure. He is survived by his father, Dr. H. W. Byrne, of Wilmore; a sister, Betty Byrne Manion of Glenwood, Maryland; a nephew, Sean Patrick Byrne Manion and two great nephews, Connor James and Chase Patrick Manion, all of Damascus, Maryland. He was preceded in death by his mother, Nelle Fern Taulbee Byrne, in 2003.
