The Greer family is experiencing the loss of another family member who left his earthly home on Tuesday, Nov. 1, after fighting a courageous battle with cancer. Howard Monroe Greer, Jr., 48, was born in Lexington, KY to Edna Burns Greer and the late Howard M. Greer, Sr. on June 25, 1968. He loved the outdoors, motorcycles, but most of all had a passion for working as a heavy equipment operator. He was always very eager to teach others about the workings of and how to operate the equipment, including his children. He leaves the memories of his favorite music, activities, and other treasures of his life with his son Travis Greer, daughters Amber Hasty, husband Anthony, and Robyn Greer, grandchildren Teegan Greer, Tinsley Hugie, Tucker Hasty and the future arrival of Layne Lewis Hasty. He will also be missed by the one he proudly called “girlfriend” Leasa Tuttle, sisters Teresa Riester, fiance Scott Knight, and Lindsey Wainscott, husband Robert, and sister-in-law Laura. His family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10:00 AM until time of his Graveside Service, which will be held at 1:00 PM Friday, Nov. 4, in Maple Grove Cemetery.
