Hugh Wallace Buffin

Hugh "Wallace" Buffin, 93, husband of June "Buffy" entered into eternal rest on Thursday, July 9, at Thomson Hood Veterans Center. He was a native of Jessamine County born January 2, 1922, to the late Albert B. and Katherine Barbara Kestel Buffin. Wallace was a WWII Army veteran having been a pilot of the B17 bomber. He was also an accomplished woodworker doing framework, building homes, furniture and frames for his arrowhead collection which he kept track of the location of each find. He served as a volunteer for the National Weather Service for over 50 years keeping hand written notebooks of the weather conditions such as the amount of precipitation and temperatures for each day. In addition to his wife he leaves his memories with a son Jay Buffin wife Cheryl, daughter Barbara Antrobus, husband Mike, grandchildren Ann Buffin Cissell, Alec Antrobus, and Ashley Buffin Shannon, great grandchildren Hailey Antrobus, Riley Cissell, Kyndal Shannon, Brody Antrobus, Jacob Cissell, and Kamryn Shannon, and nephews Frank Bowman, Garry Bowman, and Jay Prentice. He is preceded in death by sisters Recie Bowman and Evaree Prentice. He will be honored with a Graveside Remembrance on Tuesday, July 14, at 11:00 AM in the Keene Cemetery.
