Inez Hammons Underwood

Nicholasville: Inez Hammons Underwood, 86, widow of Paul E. Underwood died Fri. March 25, at Central Baptist Hospital. She was a native of Whitesburg, KY. born Aug. 12, 1924, to the late Corbitt and Elsie Hammons. She was a retired employee of the Bank of Whitesburg and former member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary in Whitesburg. After her retirement she and her husband moved to Nicholasville where they attended Tabernacle Baptist Church. She is survived by her daughter and husband Diann and Ron Cundiff, a son and his wife Thomas P. and Wanda Underwood, a granddaughter and husband Kelli Lynn and Mitch Canup, their children Ben, Will, and Drew, Nicholasville, grandsons and their wives R. Lee Cundiff DVM and Wendy, their children Braden and Jacob, Lexington, and Jeremy and Elizabeth Underwood and their children Abigail and Caleb, Ohio, a sister and her husband Yvonne and Lennon Hammock of Whitesburg, and sister in law Sandra Hammons, IN. She was preceded in death by a brother F. C. Hammons. Services commemorating her life will be 12:30 PM Mon. March 28, at Hager & Cundiff Funeral Home. She will be laid to rest with her husband at Camp Nelson National Cemetery. Honoring her as pallbearers will be family members. Visitation will be Sun. March 27, from 1 to 4 PM at the funeral home.
