James Newell Evans

James Newell Evans, 59, father of Amber and Joshua W. (Faith) Evans, entered into eternal rest after a short illness on December 8, 2016. James was born in Traverse City, Michigan on June 28, 1957, to Dimple Evans and the late Billy Evans. He was a graduate of Danville High School and Centre College, where he played football. Jim was a fun-loving person who loved cooking and woodworking. He had a love for the oldies, which has been handed down to his son and grandchildren. He also leaves his memories to the love of his life Jenny Shuman, his grandchildren Christian, Mason, Sloan, and Maxwell Evans, Jenny’s children and grandchildren, his brother Bobby Evans and his sister Becky Hogue. He was preceded in death by a brother Billy Evans, Jr. Services will be held at 1:00 PM Wednesday, Dec. 14, at Hager & Cundiff Funeral Home in Nicholasville. Interment of ashes will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery. His family will receive friends at the funeral home at 11:00 AM until the time of service. Memorial donations are suggested to the Creutzfeldt-Jakob Disease Foundation. Hager & Cundiff Funeral Home is honored to serve the Evans family.
