James Arthur "Jimmy" Preston

James Arthur Preston, 62, of Green Street in Nicholasville, entered into eternal rest Wednesday, February 22, 2023.  Jimmy was born August 25, 1960, in Jessamine County to the late John Thomas and Monnie Bullock Preston.  He loved working with horses and listening to music, both country and rock-n-roll. Jimmy leaves fond memories with his brother Thomas “Tommy” Preston, wife Angie, sister-in-law Phyllis Preston, and several nieces and nephews.  Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister Emily Joyce Steele and brother Charles Preston. A Remembrance Service will be held at 1:00 PM Wednesday, March 1, 2023, at Hager & Cundiff Funeral Home, following which Jimmy will be laid to rest at the Burgin Cemetery (224 Buster Pike, Burgin, KY) at 2:30 PM.  Serving as pall bearers are David and Jacob Willoughby, Jekhi King, and Hayes, Paul, Phillip, and Greg Preston.  Jimmy’s family will greet friends from 11:00 AM until service time Wednesday at the funeral home.  “I’d like the memory of me to be a happy one.  I’d like to leave an afterglow of smiles when life is done.  I’d like to leave an echo whispering softly down the ways, of happy times and laughing times and bright and summer days.”  Hager & Cundiff values nothing more than the trust and loyalty given to us to care for the Preston family.
