Janet Ellen McFeely, 79, left her earthly home on Saturday, Dec. 15, 20018. She was a native of Richmond, Indiana born March 14, 1939, to the late Thomas H. and Freda Miller Todd.  She was a graduate of the Richmond High School and member of St. Andrews Church in Richmond.  She had worked in the Thoroughbred industry as an employee of Bloodhorse Magazine and the Jockey Club for the majority of her career, which cultivated her love of Keeneland.  After her retirement she was employed by the Jessamine County Public Library.  Like most in her community she was a UK Wildcat fan and of course favored basketball over football.  She will be fondly remembered by her children Monica Davis, Bill McFeely, wife Donna, Melissa Southerland, husband Dwight, Karla Staley, and Tommy McFeely, grandchildren Adam Allison Davis, Jacklyn Nicole McFeely, Jacob A. Sparks, Hank Staley, Zachary Sean McFeely, Austin T. Sparks, Cash Staley, Shane Davis and Chase M. Southerland as well as her 3 great grandchildren Ava, Jonah, and Audrey.  She leaves her childhood memories with sisters Karen Hillard and Susan Godby.  Janet was preceded in death by a grandson Jayden Taylor McFeely and daughter Lisa Elaine McFeely.  A Remembrance Service will be held 11:00 AM Thursday, Dec. 20, at Hager & Cundiff Funeral Home with Father Nick Pagano officiating.  She will be laid to rest in the Butchertown Cemetery in Parksville, KY at 1:00 PM.   Honoring her as pallbearers will be Sean McFeely, Chase Southerland, Adam Davis, Shane Davis, Hank Staley, Cash Staley, Dwight Southerland, and Jacob Sparks. Honorary bearer will be Austin Sparks.

“You will never forget your Mother’s face, her voice, her touch, or the stories she told and the lessons she taught, they are your legacy”.  Hager & Cundiff Funeral Home is honored to serve the McFeely family.
