Jason David Cox, 47, passed away peacefully at his home Monday, May 22, after a courageous battle with Multiple Sclerosis. “We grieve because we love, we love because he lived, it is his life no matter how short or long that brings us joy”. Jason was a native of Jessamine County born April 28, 1970 to Robert Brutus Cox and the late Carol Dean Haney. He was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church and before MS took his mobility, a DeMolay, basketball player, guitarist and an active member of his family as a brother and uncle. Jason loved his Church, family, UK Wildcats, the Reds, NFL football and Rock and Roll music. HIs funny wit and bright smile will be missed by his father, sisters Deborah Rhodes and Donna McFeely, husband Bill; brother Robbie Cox, Jr.; loving nieces and nephews Jaclyn N. Bruner, husband Shawn, Washington St., Zachary Sean McFeely, Lexington, Travis Rhodes, wife Randa, Kansas City, Angelica Cox, husband Chris, Alabama, Ariel Morgan, husband Daniel, and Tara Cox of Tennessee. He will also be missed by a dedicated friend and care giver of many years Leisa Napier and loving care giver Mary Page, as well as his Aunt Barbara Kay who looked after and took care of him for many years. Jason was preceded in death by his mother and niece Clara Clair Cox as well as many other beautiful family members to rejoice with in heaven. A Remembrance Service will be held 11:00 AM Friday, May 26, at Hager & Cundiff Funeral Home with Pastor Bill Elliss officiating. He will be laid to rest beside his mother at 2:00 PM Friday, at Serenity Hill Cemetery. Honoring him as pallbearers will be Sean McFeely, Clayton Cox, Kelly Wells, Tommy McFeely, Kevin Cox, and Doug Wells. Honorary bearer will be Bill McFeely. The family will receive friends beginning at 6:00 PM and ending at 8:00 PM on Thursday, May 25 at the funeral home.
