Jeannette Gayhart  McWhorter, 96, mother of Cecil Gayhart and widow of Carl Gayhart since 1949, and J. T. McWhorter since 1999, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, April 9, at the Nicholasville Health and Rehabilitation Center.  She was born Sept. 5, 1923, to the late William J. and Maggie Jane Wilder West.  Jeannette was born in Wilmore where she grew up and lived her entire life. She was a member of Wilmore Christian Church for over 60 years but in 2017 she rededicated her life to Christ at  Bethel Christian Church. Jeannette had the ability to speak her mind and at the same time give you a smile to melt your heart. She had an amazing talent for drawing, painting and many other hobbies. In addition to her son, she will be fondly remembered by her grandson Chris Gayhart, wife Rhonda, great grandchild Alexis Vanover, her 5 step children,sister-in-law Susie Hall, and her many nieces and nephews as well as those in her Church family and community whose lives she has touched.  She was preceded in death by brothers Raymond, Elmer, and Clarence West, sisters Ada Welch, Edith West and Judy Dale and daughter-in-law Betty Gayhart.  A private Remembrance Service will be held on Tuesday April 14, at Hager & Cundiff Funeral Home with Rev. Bill Bales officiating.  She will be laid to rest in Wilmore Cemetery.  In cooperation with the request of health officials of not exceeding more than 10 and only the closest of family we request you sign her guestbook to leave a memory and support for her family at www.hagerandcundifffunerals.com. The service will be live streamed for you to view at 11:00 AM on Tuesday. The family suggests donations be made in her memory to Bethel Church Building Fund, 1991 Phillips Lane, Nicholasville, KY 40356.  “If ever we can’t be together, keep me in your heart, I’ll stay there forever”.   Hager & Cundiff values nothing more than the trust given to us by Jeannette and her family.
