A man who was an icon of our Community, one who gave his time to coach Little League football and basketball, and served our county by being available to help with the election polls every election, has gone home to be with his Savior. Jerry Harmon, 83, loving husband of Alice Fairchild Harmon, went to his heavenly home on Sunday Jan. 23, 2022. Jerry and Alice enjoyed many years together having been married 60 years. He was born April 27, 1938, to the late Charles and Geneva Johnson Harmon in Danville Kentucky as one of their 3 children. A member of Danville Christian Church, Jerry retired from IBM as a project manager after 35 years and will be best remembered as someone who never met a stranger, loved to talk to everyone, and loved to play golf. In addition to his wife, he will be fondly remembered by daughter Terri Fischer-Ware, husband Greg, a grandson who was the light of his life Chandler FisCher, brother Barry Harmon, niece Michelle Goode, sister-in law Kay Burton, brothers-in -law Roger and Larry Fairchild, and many other extended family members and friends. He was preceded in death by a son Jerry Harmon II and brother GG Harmon. A Memorial Remembrance will be held 3:00 PM Saturday Jan. 29, at Hager & Cundiff Funeral Home. His family will receive friends on Saturday beginning at 1:00 PM until time of Service.at the funeral home. A private entombment will take place on Monday at Bluegrass Memorial Gardens. In accordance with his wishes the family chose cremation. “Good friends are hard to find and impossible to forget.” Hager & Cundiff values nothing more than the trust and loyalty given to us to care for Jerry’s arrangements.
