Jerry Lee Perkins, Sr,

The hub of the Perkins family wheel has broken.  Jerry Lee Perkins, Sr. 73, loving husband of Marilyn June Perkins for 53 years, left his earthly home on Monday, Jan. 22, 2017, at Baptist Health Care.  He was a native of Fort Wayne, Indiana, born May 1, 1944.  Jerry was a former employee of K Mart and had also been employed by many service stations in the Lexington area.  His favorite pastime was to watch boxing and play his guitar at home.  He leaves his legacy with his children Jerry Lee Perkins, Jr., wife Victoria, Thomas Otis Perkins, wife Toni, Amy Smith, husband Bobby, Jr., Margie Perkins, Marty Perkins, and Luke Perkins, his 11 grandchildren, and 7 great grandchildren.  Being one of nine children, he leaves 6 sisters Christine, Darlene, Irene, Marilyn, Tina, and Elaine to treasure their memories, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by brothers Kenneth and Lloyd Perkins.  The family will have a Remembrance Memorial 1:00 PM on Friday, Jan. 26, at Hager & Cundiff Funeral Home and will greet friends before the service starting at 12:00 noon.   The family suggest donations be made to Hager & Cundiff Funeral Home to assist with expenses.  “Our hub is broken but our spokes are still intact.  As God calls us one by one our family wheel will be put together again”.  Hager & Cundiff Funeral Home is proud to serve the Perkins family.
