Jesse Kennison

Jesse Kennison 73, born Nov, 21, 1941, in Bedford, Indiana, went to be with his Lord on July 30, at 7:30 AM at St. Joseph Hospital in Lexington. He attended Wilmore Elementary and Junior High Schools, and graduated from Jessamine County High School in 1960. Jesse was a teacher, principal, and superintendent in Idaho, Washington, and Oregon. After graduating from George Fox College he obtained a Masters Degree from Whitworth College. Upon retirement from his educational career he returned to this area. In his retirement he worked for KellWell Food Services as well a several other positions. He was a member of Greenleaf Friends Church but faithfully attended the Nicholasville United Methodist Church. Jesse was a devoted husband, dedicated father and loving brother as well as a friend to many. He was preceded in death by his father and mother Ora and Mary Kennison, brothers Leonard and John, his wife of 47 years Dianna. He is survived by daughters Kim Mattes, husband Barry and Kerri Cadd, husband Jesse, grandson Rowan Cadd, brother Jim wife Elletta, and sister Ann Van Valin, husband John, 7 nieces and 2 nephews. He has fought the good fight, he has finished the course , he has won the race. "To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord". A Memorial Service will take place 4:00 PM Saturday, August 1, at the Nicholasville United Methodist Church. The family will greet friends at the Church from 3:00 PM until service time. Thank you to Jesse's many friends from your friendship with him over the years. The family suggest you honor Jesse's memory by donations to the Nicholasville United Methodist Church Building Fund.
