Jimmy Neal Warner passed away at St. Joseph Hospital in Lexington, KY on April 5, 2021. He was born on July 9, 1945 to the late Willie Warner and Beulah Barker Warner and was a lifelong resident of Jessamine County. Jimmy graduated from Jessamine County High School in 1963 and attended Eastern Kentucky University before beginning a 33-year career with General Telephone. Following his retirement in 1999, he spent his time pursuing his hobbies of playing golf and wood crafting. He was a regular fixture at Lone Oak Country Club for many years as part of the men’s golfing group. He had been a skilled wood crafter since high school and filled his retirement days with perfecting his skills and building a variety of projects, both big and small, that are treasured by those who loved him. Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Billy June Warner. He is survived by his wife of 55 years Mary Beth Gardner Warner, son John Stuart Warner, daughter Amy (Eric) Newkirk, granddaughter Elise Newkirk, sisters Palina Warner Hurst and Mary Warner Kottich, his nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and other extended family, as well as his special feline friend Rambo. There will not be any services at this time, but a celebration of his life will be held at a later date. Hager & Cundiff Funeral Home values nothing more than the trust placed in us by Jimmy's family. This obituary was lovingly submitted by the Warner Family.
