JoAnn Bonsib, 92, of Lexington formerly of Bloomington, Indiana
quietly passed away June 16, 2015 at St. Joseph Hospice Care in Lexington. . A native of Cincinnati, Ohio, she was one of 3 daughters, including her identical twin sister Annette, of David Diener and Georgia Gaskins JoAnn lived a full, varied and interesting life. In 1941 she married Bill Brodbeck, in Cincinnati and together, they had two daughters, Bonnie and Patricia (Pat). Bill passed away in 1982. In 1962 she moved to Bloomington, Indiana and married Bill Bonsib, of Fort Wayne, Indiana. They were married in Beck Chapel on the IU Campus and remained married until his death in 1997. Always a vibrant woman, she saw life as so very interesting and full of wonder. While living in Cincinnati, she was active in Community Theater, modeling, artistic endeavors and the raising of her two daughters. While living in Washington, DC with her husband Bill Bonsib, she served as president of the Republican Women's Club, did volunteer work at the White House and attended several inaugurations. She was very proud of the fact that she and her hero, Ronald Reagan, shared the same birth date of February 6. She is survived by two daughters, Bonnie Lee Gammon husband Bob of Bloomington, their two daughters, Gina Gammon Searle husband Chris and their son Emerson of Salt Lake City, UT; Krista Eckert husband Johannes of Atlanta, GA; Patricia Ann (Pat) Medlock husband Rudy of Wilmore, KY their three children, Paige Medlock Johnson, husband Ryan, their sons Luke, Mathew and A.J. of Alabama; Mia White, husband Phillip of Wilmore, KY and Gentry Medlock, of North Carolina, as well as five step children, Judi Willis, Susie Williams, Betty Proteau, John and Grant Bonsib. JoAnn is also survived by her identical twin sister, Annette Smith of Cincinnati, Ohio. She was preceded in death by a sister Jean Kirshner. She will be honored by a Service of Remembrance 2:00 PM on Saturday, June 27, at Hager & Cundiff Funeral Home. There will be a private family gathering following at Sharker Village of Pleasant Hill. Hager & Cundiff Funeral Home is honored to have been of service to JoAnn's family.
