Joanna Sue (Kirkland) Schue

February 24, 1944 — February 18, 2019

Joanna Sue Kirkland Schue passed away peacefully on Monday, February 18, 2019, at Diversicare after a 14-year stay.  She went to be with the Lord at the age of 74.  She was born in DuQuoin, IL on February 24, 1944 to the late Wesley Paul and Eva Elizabeth Button Kirkland.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister Frances Ehler.  Joanna is survived by her loving husband of 42 years, Tom, of Nicholasville, KY and will be lovingly remembered by her daughter Suzanna Marie Schue Couch (Timothy) and grandchildren Emily, Trastian (Kendrick), Hannah, and Logan.  She also leaves her memory with brother-in-law Willard Ehler, nephew Roger Ehler, and niece Laura Marrow (Curt) of Illinois, as well as a special sister-in-law Nina Green of Lexington, KY.  Joanna was a devoted member of the Nicholasville Christian Church and Circle Four.  She was a Girl Scout leader and was known for several years of employment at Kmart.  Her family will honor her with a Remembrance Service at 11:30 AM Friday, February 22, at Hager & Cundiff Funeral Home with Deacon Gary Rudemiller officiating.  She will be laid to rest at Camp Nelson National Cemetery.  Her family will greet friends Thursday, February 21 beginning at 4:00 PM and ending at 8:00 PM at the funeral home.  “If there ever comes a day where we can’t be together, keep me in your heart.  I’ll stay there forever.”  Hager & Cundiff Funeral Home is honored to be chosen by the Schue Family to care for Joanna.
