Joe Anne "Joanne" Ballard

Mourning the loss of their Mother Joe Anne "Joanne" Ballard this day, Tuesday, Jan. 26, are daughter Sharon Watts, husband Jack and son Gary Ballard. Joanne was a native of Lexington born Dec. 31, 1934, to the late Glover Beckham and Roxie Ann Osborne Swango. She had been a bookkeeper for Armster Bruner Builders and also was self employed as a tax preparer. She was an avid supporter of Disabled Veterans, Easter Seals, and an animal lover. She also leaves her memories to grandchildren Adam Merrill and David Merrill, wife LeeAnn, sister Kathleen Underwood, as well as nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a daughter Kelly Anne Ballard and brother Glenn Hollon. Her Remembrance Service will be held 11:00 AM Friday, at Hager & Cundiff Funeral Home. She will be laid to rest beside her grandmother Cora Osborne in the Swango-Tutt Cemetery, Campton, KY. A Graveside Service will be at 2:00 PM on Friday. Joanne's family will honor her as pallbearers. Her family will greet friends on Thursday , Jan. 28, from 4 to 8 PM at the funeral home. Her family suggest donations be made in her memory to Disabled Veterans or the Jessamine County Humane Society.
