John F. Cox, Jr., 98, husband of Elexene Mastin Cox died at their home, March 14, 2013, surrounded by loved ones. He was born August 1, 1914, in Fayette County to John F. and Nannie Mitchell Cox.
He is also survived by daughters Judith Lynn Cox and Patti Cox Taylor (his caregiver), granddaughter Ashleigh DeCecca (Justin) and great grandchildren Taylor and Lawson DeCecca, special nephew Bill Cox (Esther) and their family , loving sisters-in-law Wini, Juanita, Bettye Lee and the Mastin family. Two brothers preceded him in death Durward (Cathy) and Bob(Hallie) Cox.
In WWII John proudly served three years in the Pacific and spent 67 years as a dedicated Jessamine County farmer. His family will receive visitors Tuesday from 1 to 3 PM at the Cox home with a Service of Remembrance at 3:00 PM. In lieu of flowers donations are suggested to Hospice of the Bluegrass.
