John Mitchel Wooton, 49, died Friday, Jan. 6. He was a native of Dayton, Ohio, born Sept. 27, 1962, to the late Robert Mitchel and Shirley Ann Stillwell Wooton. John’s passion was history and therefore he was very involved Pre-Revolutionary War Reenactments, and was a member of Craigs Creek Muzzleloaders, he also built muzzleloaders, and loved working with wood. He trained the militia for the movie The Patriot and was an extra as well. He loved the outdoors, fishing and hunting. He is survived by his daughter Kaitlyn Wooton and her mother Marcia, sisters Shirley Jo Trimble and husband Rev. Dennis Trimble and Jennifer Ann Krajewski, husband Don, nephew Robbie Elton Trimble, and uncle Buddy Stillwell.

He was preceded in death by a daughter Nicole Carter Wooton.

Services will be 11:00 AM Monday, Jan. 9, at Hager & Cundiff Funeral Home with Rev. Dennis Trimble officiating. He will be laid to rest in Maple Grove Cemetery. Honoring him as pallbearers will be Daniel McGowan, Patrick Wise, Bobby Pickelsimer, Steve Jones, Robert Zeigenfuse, Darrell Varner, and Gary Varner. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 Sunday, Jan. 8, at the funeral home. You may make donations to the family in John’s memory.
