Joshua A. Padgett, 32, of Carlton, Minnesota formerly of Jessamine County, was fatally injured in an automobile accident in Minnesota. He was a native of Cincinnati, Ohio born Jan. 6, 1983. Josh was a 2002 graduate of East Jessamine High School and attended Morehead State University. He had enlisted in the Army National Guard serving 4 years and was called to serve in Operation Noble Eagle after 911. His love of hunting fishing , backpacking and kayaking led him to become a summer employee of the Canadian Boundary Waters a guide company in Minnesota and later becoming an employee of Sappi Paper Mill. He was honored to served as a volunteer firefighter in Carlton. He leaves his memories with his mother Cammie Spears, step father Lanny Spears, father Anthony "Tony" Padgett, his 3 children Madison Elizabeth, Emma Leone, and Mason Richard Padgett, their mother Jennifer Burgess Padgett, a maternal grandfather Ledford Bryant, paternal grandfather Richard E. Padgett, a sister Samantha Day, husband Josh, brother Korey Padgett, wife Laura, step-sister Jennifer Spears, nephew Calvin Jack Padgett, niece Isla Claire Padgett as well as numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by maternal grandmother Ernie Bryant and paternal grandmother Wilma Padgett. A Service of Remembrance will be held 11:00 AM on Tuesday, May 5, at Hager & Cundiff Funeral Home. He will be laid to rest with full Military Honors in Camp Nelson National Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 4 to 8 PM on Monday, May 4.
