Judy Ann (Babb) Alford

Judy Ann Alford, 73, dedicated wife of Wayne Alford, entered into eternal rest on Friday Sept.10, 2021 while a patient at Baptist Health.  She was a native of Gate City, Virginia, born Sept 12, 1947, to the late Alfred Henry and Jessie Babb, being one of their three children.  She was a retired employee of BBT Bank, having worked in the Trust Department, and a member of Light House Baptist Church.  She loved taking care of her family, and even though she held several different jobs throughout the years, she was always there to see to their needs.  She was an avid sports fan—especially the Big Orange Tennessee Vols football, Cincinnati Red baseball and also enjoyed playing the piano.  Judy will be fondly remembered by her children Dawn Lynette Randle husband John, Peter Wayne Alford, wife Denise, and Krista Shannon Day, as well as her 7 grandchildren Matthew Royalty, Stosh  and Kenzie Trojan, Trent, Jillian, and Carson Alford, and Jacob Day, her 3 great grandchildren, and her many friends and her church family.  She was preceded in death by brothers Johnny and Alfred Babb, Jr.  A Remembrance Service will be 1:00 PM on Thursday, Sept. 16, Light House Baptist Church. She will be laid to rest in Maple Grove Cemetery following the Service.  Her family will greet friend at the church on Wednesday, Sept 15, beginning at 4:00 PM and ending at 8:00 PM. “If there comes a day where we cant’t be together, keep me in your heart.
