Karen Johns Kelley

Karen Johns Kelley, 64, of Wilmore died Thursday, March 28, at St. Joseph Hospice Care Center. She was a native of Jessamine County born April 27, 1948, to Ruth S. Reynolds Johns and the late Fred Johns.

Karen had been a dental assistant for many years. She was the loving wife of William "Bill" Kelley for 11 years and mother of Shawn Lester, husband Thad, Wilmore, Matthew Lee, Nicholasville, and Christopher Lee, Frankfort, step children Ernie Ray Kelly, wife Nancy, Lisa Russell, Katherine Sims, and William Kelley, Jr. .

Survivors also include sisters Freda Jacobs, husband Ronnie, Eva Marsee, husband Dana, and brother Barton Johns, wife Gina, grandchildren Morgan, Emily, Sam, and Kate Lester and Cameron Lee, along with several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a sister Katherine "Kitty" Thompson. A Service of Remembrance will be held at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, April 2, at Hager & Cundiff Funeral Home. She will be laid to rest in the Cobb Cemetery.
