Mrs. Katherine Bruner

The Bruner family has lost the matriarch of their family Katherine Bruner at the age of 98. She has been the widow of John Henry Bruner since 1991. A native of Garrard County she was born Dec. 29, 1918, to the late Ray Andrew and Katherine Canter Stipe. A wonderful homemaker she loved quilting, canning and taking care of her 4 children, which meant washing a lot of clothes, dishes, and cooking lots of meals. She was a faithful member of the First Assembly of God Church. She leaves her memories with her son Jesse Bruner and daughter Nancy Robinson, husband Danny, daughter-in-law Dora Bruner, grandchildren Stephen Dwayne Bruner, René Bruner-Buck, Chris Bruner, Tami Vickers, Angie Lowery, Laura and Megan Roberts, as well as 8 great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. Katherine was preceded in death by sons Ronald Dwayne and his wife Cindi; Johnny Bruner; daughter-in-law Connie Bruner; grandson Ashley Dale Bruner; sisters Mary Lingle, Fannie Stipe, and Josephine Johns and brother Raymond Stipe. Her Remembrance Service will be held 11:00 AM Thursday, March 30, at Hager & Cundiff Funeral Home with Brother Terry Moore officiating. She will be laid to rest beside her husband in Maple Grove Cemetery. Family members will honor her as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5 to 8 PM on Wednesday.
