Kathleen "Kay" Harrod, 97, joined her husband Barnett Harrod in eternal rest on Saturday, July 6, at her residence. She was a native of Owsley County born Nov. 12, 1915, to the late Edward and Arminta Farley Combs and was a retired employee of the Commonwealth of Kentucky, District 12 where she was a bookkeeper. A talented person she was very creative and loved to paint with oil. She leaves to cherish her history and memories a brother Raymond Combs, sister Betti Erny, several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. She was preceded in death by 3 brothers Elmo, Lester, and Hurl Combs. A Service of Remembrance will be held 1:30 PM Wednesday, July17, at Hager & Cundiff Funeral Home with Rev. Barbara Schaars officiating. She will be laid to rest with her husband in Camp Nelson Nation Cemetery. Honoring her as pallbearers will be Stuart, Keith, Rudy, and Joseph Erny, David Hensley, and John Thomas Eads. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM on Wednesday until time of service at 1:30 PM.
