Nicholasville: Kathryn Alicia Dempsey Genson, 28, of Hennessey, Oklahoma, passed away July 2, after a brief illness. She was born on Easter Sunday, April 6, 1980, in Frankfort, Ky. and spent her childhood in Texas, Florida, Georgia, and Iowa. After graduating from Valley High School in West Des Moines, Iowa, in 1998, she joined the Marine Corps and worked as an audio-visual Communication specialist for three years while stationed at Miramar, California. After an honorable discharge she became a certified nursing assistant and worked at Sharps Medical clinic in San Diego, and had recently made her home in Hennessey, Oklahoma. She is survived by her children Abigail Lee and Zachary Nathaniel Genson and their father Jann Victor Genson, Georgia, her father Westley Wayne Dempsey and wife Susan, FL., mother Robin Rouse Olson and husband Gordon of Montana, a brother Christopher Westley Dempsey and wife Stephanie of Virginia, paternal grandmother Juanita Smith Dempsey, Adairville, Ky, maternal grandfather James Patrick Rouse and wife Eileen of North Dakota, uncles Joe Fred Dempsey and wife Pamela, Ky. , Lawrence Rouse and wife Carolyn, NV, Dr. Stephen Rouse and wife Annette of NC, and Daniel Rouse and wife Lisa of ND, and a nephew, several nieces and cousins. She also leaves behind numerous dear friends and acquaintances in Oklahoma including Vickie Bright, LPN who took wonderful care Kathryn in her final months. She is preceded in death by her paternal grandfather James Westley Dempsey of Adairville, Ky. and her maternal grandmother Alice Spriggs Rouse of North Dakota who was formerly of Lexington, Ky.

Services will be 12:30 PM Friday, Aug. 1, at Camp Nelson National Cemetery where she will receive Military Honors. Contributions may be made in her memory to the Hospice Circle of Love (www.hospicecircleoflove.com) of Enid, Oklahoma, to which the family expresses our appreciation and thanks for their wonderful care.
