Kenneth “Ken” Ray Hager, 88, widower of Christine Taulbee Hager since 2003, joined her in eternal rest on Sunday, December 5, 2021. He was a native of Madison County, born Dec. 8 1932, to the late Robert and Dohney Gullette Hager. He was a former member of Gardenside Christian Church in Lexington and the Antioch Church in Madison County. Ken spent many years as a press mechanic working for Harris Corporation and later the Lexington Herald Leader, retiring in 1995. In addition he was a member of the Masonic Lodge, Circle One Lodge, the Oleika Shriners, and the Moose Lodge, all of Lexington. He also had been honored as a Kentucky Colonel and Kentucky Admiral, as he was a boating enthusiast. Ken also enjoyed camping at Boonesboro and fishing at Lake Okeechobee. He was preceded in death by his son Donald Ray Hager in 1974. He will be fondly remembered by his daughters Susan Ray O’Dell and Kristi Lynn Reinhold, and his 5 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. There will be a Remembrance Service held at 1:00 PM Wednesday, Dec. 8, 2021, Hager & Cundiff Funeral Home. The family will greet friends at the funeral home beginning at 10:30 AM on Wednesday until service time. Ken will be laid to rest beside his wife at Maple Grove Cemetery following the service. Honoring him as pallbearers will be Greg Reinhold, Robbie Vela, Scott Gumm, Lee Harvey, Larry Lewis and Nate Mann.
